Samsung may be preparing a surprise device for next year

A few days ago, a report from Korea suggested that Samsung was going to launch eight flagship devices next year, including four foldables - the Flip9, Fold9, Fold9 Ultra, the TriFold 2. Today, a different source has unveiled the codenames for Samsung's foldable lineup for 2027, and there are five of them: B9, H9, Q9A, Q9B, and Z9. The Flip8's codename was B8, making B9 rather obviously the Flip9 - so it hasn't been canceled like a previous rumor suggested. Similarly, the Fold8's codename was H8, so H9 is the Fold9. That much is simple. The Q9A and Q9B seem like they would be two...

Apple won't be able to meet demand in Q3

During his last call with investors before stepping down, Apple CEO Tim Cook laid out that the upcoming September quarter (Q3) will have huge customer demand that the supply chain won't be able to meet. Cook stressed that it isn't a case of RAM constraints or lack of parts, but that, put simply, customer demand for iPhones, iPads, and Macs is too great, and supply partners can't keep up. He said, "this isn't a partner or supplier issue. The issue is an incredibly strong demand." That means that the supply chain is capable of completing Apple orders at the usual scale, but that the...

iPhone driver's licenses are coming to another state

iPhone and Apple Watch users in Oklahoma will soon be able to add their driver's licenses and IDs to the Apple Wallet app. Apple is in fact already working on supporting this feature in its backend systems, according to a new report. Oklahoma passed a House bill in March that allows Service Oklahoma to issue mobile or digital versions of stated ID cards and driver’s licenses, and this is a consequence of that bill. These digital IDs and driver’s licenses are not intended to replace the physical versions, so people in Oklahoma will still need to have the latter. The digital versions...
