Sony unveiled its latest flagship this week and we shot straight to the top of our trending chart. The Xperia 1 VIII dethroned the Samsung Galaxy A57 and pushed the Galaxy S26 Ultra to third spot. [#InlinePriceWidget, 14660, 1#] We then have the upcoming Xiaomi 17 Max, which is already starting to make a name for itself, followed by the Galaxy A17 and Apple's iPhone 17 Pro Max. In seventh is the Honor 600 Pro, which was on the podium last week and leading the chart not too long ago. Xiaomi-made mid-rangers Redmi Note 15 and Poco X8 Pro take the next two spots, while the iPhone...

Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro review

Introduction, unboxing Huawei's Watch Fit series is very popular because it combines a small form factor with a useful rectangular display, colorful bands, a strong suite of health and fitness tracking, and superb battery life for not a lot of money. Many people gravitate towards the series (and others like it) because they cover the majority of functionality of an Apple Watch or a Wear OS watch, but with far superior battery life. And as the series has evolved, it's gotten nicer and more premium, think less fitness band and more premium smartwatch. This move into premium happened last...

Google’s new Gemini Intelligence will only be available on a handful of the best current Android flagships for now

A few days ago, Google announced Gemini Intelligence, which seems to be more than just a rebranding effort. It’s actually an impressive set of features that, among other things, can automate multi-step tasks and execute them entirely in the background on its own, including things like sourcing and transforming information and interacting with various apps and websites autonomously on your behalf. There is even a “Rambler” component coming to Gboard that lets you talk freely with any and all filler or crutch words that most of us unintentionally use, and even mix languages in the same...

Samsung Galaxy A54 starts receiving May 2026 security patches before its flagship siblings

This is a rather interesting development for sure, but for whatever reason, Samsung has already shipped an update containing Android’s May security patches to the Galaxy A55 and is now doing the same for the Galaxy A54. Meanwhile, this author’s personal Galaxy S26 Ultra is still running patches from April 5 as of writing this article. We snooped around in the changelog for the update just out of curiosity. Perhaps something in there would simply be more relevant in some way to the midrange Galaxy A5x family? That doesn’t appear to be the case. The May patches address two critical...

Weekly deals: the Galaxy S26 series is on sale, Motorola Razr 2026 series goes on pre-order

The Samsung Galaxy S26+ (256GB) is currently $890 on Amazon – that’s a bit lower than we’ve seen it at for the past few weeks and $200+ off on a phone that’s less than three months old is a solid discount. That said, the 2026 model doesn’t bring many updates over its predecessor – there’s the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and the slightly faster wireless charging (20W vs. 15W, though still without magnets). Meanwhile, many flagship features are still missing, things like a high resolution sensor in the telephoto camera, 10-bit colors for the display or an IP69 rating (though that last one is...

Google reveals why it's offering only 5GB free storage instead of 15GB with some new Gmail accounts

We recently saw reports from users claiming that Google is offering only 5GB of free storage with a new Gmail account, instead of 15GB, but if they added their phone number to the new account, Google would "unlock" 15GB storage at no cost. Google has revealed the reason behind that. In a statement to Android Authority, a Google spokesperson said the company is testing this change to help it continue to provide a "high-quality storage service" to its users. Samsung’s next-generation flagship chipset, the Exynos 2700, could adopt a new packaging design, according to a recent report. The company is reportedly planning to move away from Fan-Out Wafer-Level Packaging (FOWLP) technology for the upcoming SoC. Fan-Out Wafer-Level Packaging (FOWLP), which Samsung has used since the Exynos 2400, reportedly helped improve thermal performance. However, the technology is said to have been less profitable for the company due to its complex and costly manufacturing process. Apple and Intel have apparently kicked off legacy Apple silicon chip production on Intel’s 18A-P process, which is equivalent to TSMC’s process used on the A18 Pro chip. Motorola is having a fire sale on the Moto Razr Ultra 2025 - 1TB variant goes for $800

Motorola was ambitious with the pricing of the Razr 2026 family, but it was quite conservative with the upgrades. A Razr Ultra 2026 will cost you $1,500 for a 512GB unit despite using mostly the same hardware as the 2025 Ultra – it has the same chipset (with an overclock, but still), for example. The screen is a bit brighter (by 500 nits at peak), the main camera has a new LOFIC sensor and the battery is 300mAh bigger, but these are all incremental changes. In short, you won’t lose much if you buy the Motorola Razr Ultra 2025 instead – but you will save quite a bit since the phone...

Vodafone now fully owns the UK's VodafoneThree

Vodafone and Three announced plans to merge in the UK back in 2023, and the consolidation was eventually given the go-ahead by regulators in December 2024. The merged entity, VodafoneThree, officially began operations on May 31, 2025, with Vodafone holding 51% of the shares and CK Hutchison (Three's owner) holding 49%. Now, almost exactly one year later, Vodafone is buying out CK Hutchison's stake, and thus will take full ownership of VodafoneThree. This will cost Vodafone £4.3 billion. The deal will of course need to be cleared by regulators, and that's expected to happen at some point...
